Caught this interesting little article by Sterling Hager about how corporate bloggers should be patient about gaining on a following to their blog.

Few things so shock the new corporate blogger than the usual global reaction to his or her brand new spanking blog. That reaction would be… a yawn.

I guess this blog is a good example of it. For my first three months my posts were infrequent, a good day was 10 visitors and I had no subscribers. Today things are little better but the primary goal of my blog (if there was a goal) was to participate or incite conversation. Since I don’t talk about my employer all that much I don’t expect to be in that storm of conversation. Which in all ways is probably a good thing.Personally, this blog has enabled me to talk to people outside of my normal corporate network about topics that aren’t the primary focus of our company, its ton of fun. And a more interesting way to spend my lunch than just watching then listening to the news.
